Jon Fitch And Thiago Alves Pull Out Of Their Upcoming Fights Due To Injury

Two of the UFC’s best known welterweight stars Jon Fitchand Thiago Alves have been forced to pull out of their upcoming bouts due to injuries sustained during training.

Fitch had been hoping to bounce back from a shock 14 second KO loss to Johny Hendricks last time out with an upcoming fight against Aaron Simpson at ‘UFC On Fuel TV 4’ in July, but a knee injury has forced him out of action.

That’ll be a frustration for the 34 year-old who’s already spent much of the last year on the sidelines after undergoing shoulder surgery.

Meanwhile, UFC 149 in July will no longer feature Thiago Alves as an undisclosed injury means that he’s unable to fight Siyar Bahadurzada.

That’s another blow to the Calgary event which has also seen Thiago Silva being withdrawn from his fight with Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua in the past week.
