UFC woman’s strawweight champion Joanna Jędrzejczyk has become a firm fan and fighter favorite since she joined the UFC and it turns out that fellow title holder Jose Aldo might just be one of her biggest admirers.
“I love her,” Aldo said at a recent Q&A in his native Brazil, translated by MMAfighting.com. “That’s a fight that I stopped to watch, I slept during the others. I asked them to wake me up when it was time for her to fight. I love that girl fighting, man.”
Like Aldo, Jędrzejczyk is a high level, technical striker and in her last fight showed off the kind of debilitating leg kicks against Valerie Letourneau that the Brazilian himself has demonstrated over the years, so it makes sense that he’s taken a shine to her.
“I’m huge fan of (Jedrzejczyk) because of her fighting style, with excellent kickboxing. She’s growing each and every fight, so that’s someone I stop to watch.”
However, Aldo’s teammate Claudio Gadelha is expected to have a rematch with Jędrzejczyk next, so on that occasion he says his loyalties will lie with her, and he’s advising her to avoid striking with the Polish star who he believes, “hits like a man.”
“Gadelha knows, and you know she has to use her grappling because there’s where she has a big possibility of becoming champion.”
