Andrei Arlovski Vs Josh Barnett To Headline UFC Fight Night 93

A heavyweight fight between former UFC heavyweight champions Andrei Arlovski and Josh Barnett will headline UFC Fight Night 93 in Hamburg, Germany on September 3rd.

Up until the start of this year, Arlovski was in the running for a title shot in the heavyweight division after compiling a four-fight winning streak during a successful return to the UFC late in his career, but the road has been rockier since then.

His winning run came to a halt against future champion Stipe Miocic back in January, and has since also been TKO’d by Alistair Overeem earlier this month, causing him to slip to No.6 on the official rankings heading into this fight.

As for Barnett, he is also coming off a loss against ‘Big’ Ben Rothwell, which marked the first time that he’d been submitted in his 42 fight career.

Prior to that Barnett had defeated Roy Nelson by decision back in September of last year, after returning to the Octagon following a lengthy absence.

So, the veteran campaigners, Arlovski Vs Barnett will headline the Hamburg event, which so far only has one other fight announced, with Ryan Bader set to compete against Ilir Latifi in a light-heavyweight match-up that will also feature on the main card.
