Josh Koscheck Out Of UFC 151 Fight With Jake Ellenberger

September 1st’s UFC 151 event has suffered a major blow with Josh Koscheck being forced out of his co-main event bout with Jake Ellenberger due to an injury.

The ‘UFC Tonight’ show on Fuel TV revealed last night that Koscheck has suffered a bulging disk in his back that’ll leave him unable to compete at the Las Vegas show.

The UFC hope to announce a replacement to take on Ellenberger instead soon, and with a little less than four weeks to go until the fight it’ll be interesting to see who they come up with.

Ellenberger is looking to rebound from a KO loss to Martin Kampmann back in June that halted his title charge, having gone six fights unbeaten prior to that.

A win over a big name opponent like Koscheck could have helped ease him straight back into the title mix, so he’ll be hoping that someone of similar stature steps up to the plate to face him instead.

The UFC will certainly be hoping so too as outside of the blockbuster main event featuring Jon Jones latest title defense against Dan Henderson, the UFC 151 main card is light on star power.
