Josh Koscheck Vs Demian Maia Scrapped From UFC 163 Due To Injury

The UFC’s injury bug has struck once again with Josh Koscheck having picked up an undisclosed injury that will keep him out of his UFC 163 welterweight clash with Demian Maia.

There’s simply not enough time to find a suitable replacement and so Maia has now also been pulled from the August 3rd event in Rio.

The main card for the show is now starting to look a little underwhelming aside for the top two bouts on the card, featuring a featherweight title fight between Jose Aldo and ‘The Korean Zombie’ alongside Lyoto Machida Vs Phil Davis.

It’s fair to say that the other two bouts remaining on the main card – John Lineker vs. Phil Harris and Clint Hester vs. Cezar Ferreira aren’t going to drive a lot of ticket or PPV sales and so it’ll be interesting to see if the UFC draft in another credible fight from elsewhere, or simply promote one of the undercard bouts to main card status.
