Kamal Shalorus, Efrain Escudero And Steve Cantwell Amongst Fighters Cut From The UFC’s Roster

It’s been confirmed that the UFC has released a number of fighters from the roster after their recent defeats in the promotion.

Amongst the casualties is lightweight fighter Kamal Shalorus who came to the UFC with an unbeaten record after a 3-0-1 stint in the WEC, but failed to make the same impression in the Octagon, going 0-3 which sealed his fate.

Former Ultimate Fighter winner Efrain Escudero has already been cut from the UFC once before, but after a 5-1 spell outside of the organization including a win in the Bellator promotion he was welcomed back into the fold.  Unfortunately for him it was to be a short-lived return as he’s since gone 0-2.

Another notable name to be shown the exit is Steve Cantwell.  After a two fight losing streak in 2009 he had a long absence for a medical issue and moved up to middleweight upon his return last year.  The divisional switch didn’t work out though and he ended up racking up another three defeats on his record.

Also heading out the door is Jorge Lopez (0-2), Dongi Yang (1-3), Jeff Curran (0-2) and Aaron Rosa (1-2).
