Khabib Nurmagomedov And Dustin Poirier Respond To Conor McGregor’s Call-Outs

Conor McGregor called out half the UFC’s lightweight division during a twitter tirade yesterday and now two of the main targets, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Dustin Poirier have responded.

McGregor had called Nurmagomedov “an absolute embarassment,” a “scurrying rat,” and a “man that hugs legs,” during his rant and the lightweight champion was eager to respond.

“Yes, we remember you, you was so nice that night, be same, don’t be fake,” Nurmagomedov said alongside a photo of him choking out McGregor in their first fight back in 2018.

“Hug legs?” Nurmagomedov continued. “Have you forgot how I knock you down, or you typing tweets drunk? Beat you in striking, parts you up in wrestling, absolutely destroy you in grappling, Made you grab air with your hands, and at the end you gave up. last one, don’t forget your words ‘it’s only business’”

McGregor had also paid Dustin Poirier a backhanded compliment, suggesting that ‘The Diamond’ would beat Tony Ferguson if they fought next, but then quickly cancelled that out by stating that he would get “a couple of wins here/there and then folded in half.”

Poirier’s reply was short and to the point.

“You have 1 win at Lightweight in the UFC… Pipe down.”

Though he’s not a fighter, Ali Abdelaziz, who is manager to stars like Khabib Nurmagomedov and Justin Gaethe, was also indirectly targeted during McGregor’s social media rant, and he too has responded to shut down talk of McGregor now fighting Gaethje.

“He had his chance for that, and he picked Cowboy [in January],” Abdelaziz told ESPN. “He picked the easier fight. The two kings of the division are going to fight in Khabib and Justin. Conor can be the co-main event.”
