Khamzat Chimaev is now firmly on the UFC map after registering his second win in just 10 days courtesy of a first round TKO stoppage against Rhys Mckee tonight at UFC On ESPN 14.
Round One:
Chimaev with a punch to set up a takedown straight away. He picks Mckee up and walks him across the octagon then takes his time completing the takedown.
Chimaev traps an arm from half guard, but then moves to mount. McKee in real trouble already in this fight as Chimaev starts to soften him up with ground and pound.
McKee trying to move out of danger and ends up turtled up as Chimaev blasts him with hammerfists. McKee tries to get to his back, but Chimaev threatens with a rear-naked choke. He manages to get out though.
Chimaev continues to stay busy on top as he unleashes a series of punches to the head. Now Chimaev takes his back and there’s a powerful flurry of right hands.
McKee has to do something or the referee might stop this one, but he’s completely stuck under Chimaev’s dominant top-control pressure and as another relentless series of lefts and right land to the head the fight is waved off by TKO at 3.09mins of the first round, handing Chimaev his second UFC victory in just 10 days – a new UFC record!
