Konstantin Erokhin Failed Drug Test Prior To TUF 22 Finale

Russian heavyweight fighter Konstantin Erokhin has already been released from the UFC due to a dreadful performance at The Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale: Edgar Vs Mendes in Las Vegas in December, but it’s now emerged that he also failed a drug test prior to the event as well.

Erokhin tested positive for the anabolic steroid drostanolone in an in-competition, pre-fight test at the TUF show and as such now faces a two year suspension from the sport.

The 34 year-old had lost by unanimous decision to Gabriel Gonzaga at the event in what was undoubtedly one of the worst fights of the year, with neither man showing any willingness to engage, resulting in pretty much just 15 minutes of two aging heavyweights circling each other in the Octagon.

Erokhin, who’d also lost his UFC debut against Viktor Peska back in January of 2015 has since been cut from the UFC’s roster, and this latest announcemet confirms that was the right decision.

The TUF 22 Finale was one of three events in three days in Las Vegas, including UFC Fight Night 80 and UFC 194 as the UFC looked to end 2015 with a bang, and the drug testing results for each shows that everyone else passed their tests except for Erokhin.
