Li Jingliang spoiled Santiago Ponzinibbio’s welcome-back party today at UFC On ABC 1 with a nasty first round knockout finish.
Round One:
Leg kick from Ponzinibbio. Inside leg kick from Li. He lands another. Three-piece combo from Li. Now back to the inside leg kick twice.
Li continues to pepper that inside leg. Now Ponzinibbio lands a solid calf kick. Another kick to the leg from Li.
Nice left hook from Ponzinibbio. Another left hands and Li tries to counter. Inside leg kick for Ponzinibbio now then backs up as Li presses forward.
Inside leg kick and a punch behind it from Li. Outside leg kick from Li, but Ponzinibbio checks it this time. Nevertheless, Li lands it again.
Ponzinibbio steps into a punch at the same time as Li. They both miss, but Li immediately follows up with a flush left hook that sends him crashing to the canvas for a stunning KO finish in the first round!
Big moment for Li then and a nightmare return to action for Ponzinibbio following a two year injury layoff, bringing his seven-fight winning streak to an abrupt end.
