A flyweight fight between Liz Carmouche and Roxanne Modafferi has been booked for UFC On ESPN 4 in San Antonio, Texas on July 20th.
Carmouche will be looking to build on a recent two-fight winning streak that’s seen her earn decision wins over Jennifer Maia and Lucie Pudilova, after initially getting her 125lb run off to a shaky start with a split decision loss to Alexis Davis.
That leaves the former bantamweight title challenger placed at No.3 in the flyweight rankings and a win over the 5th ranked Modafferi would put in her a strong position to call for a shot at the belt.
As for Modafferi, she is on a high after earning a split decision win over Antonina Shevchenko last month. ‘The Happy Warrior’ has already challenged once for the flyweight title after her working her way through TUF season 26 and is 2-2 in the division to date.
Carmouche Vs Modafferi joins a UFC On ESPN 4 card that currently has no other fights attached to it, and marks the promotion’s first event in San Antonio since 2014.
