Lyoto Machida Fights CB Dollaway At UFC Fight Night 58

CB Dollaway’s recent form in the Octagon has just earned him the biggest fight of his career as he’s now been lined up to face Lyoto Machida at UFC Fight Night 58 in Brazil.

Machida is coming off a five round decision loss in his middleweight title clash with current champion Chris Weidman. It was a competitive fight though and ‘The Dragon’ still has aspirations to reach the summit of the division again.

Given that he’s still ranked No.4 he’s definitely still in the mix at 185lbs, though a win over Dollaway is likely to be seen as an opportunity to get back in the win column rather than a fight to push for title contention again.

On the other hand this could be a very big deal for Dollaway if he could emerge with a victory. ‘The Doberman’ is currently enjoying the best spell of his career with four wins in his last five outings which has seen him break into the 185lb rankings at No.9.

This is a huge step up in compeition for him though, with his biggest win to date coming against the recently released Francis Carmont back in May. He’s also fought other former top 10 contenders like Tim Boetsch and Mark Munoz in the past, but came up short on both occasions.

Machida Vs Dollaway is the only fight so far announced for UFC Fight Night 58 and is slated to serve as the evening’s main event.
