Lyoto Machida Vs Yoel Romero To Headline TUF Brazil 4 Finale

A major middleweight fight between Lyoto Machida and Yoel Romero is set to headline the TUF Brazil 4 Finale in Florida on June 27th.

as a result, the previously announced headliner for the show between Rick Story and Erick Silva will now move to the co-main event slot on the card.

Machida is coming off a second round submission loss to Luke Rockhold at UFC On FOX 15 last month. Nevertheless, ‘The Dragon’ still remains at No.5 in the divisional rankings with a 3-2 record to date competing at 185lbs including wins over Gegard Mousasi, Mark Munoz and CB Dollaway in addition to an unsuccessful bid to take the title from current champion Chris Weidman in the summer of last year.

Romero is placed just one rung lower on the middleweight rankings at No.6 after a perfect 5-0 run in the UFC to date, including a TKO victory over Tim Kennedy last time out.

‘The Soldier Of God’ has been out of action for several months due to a ligament and meniscus tear in his knee, but he’s now fit to resume his attempt to hike to the summit of the middleweight division.

Romero would put together a compelling case for a title shot if he emerges victorious in this fight, but with the likes of Luke Rockhold and Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza also vying for a shot at the winner of next week’s Chris Weidman Vs Vitor Belfort championship fight, it may still be some time before he would have an oppportunity to compete for the belt.
