Marcos Rogério de Lima TKO’s Ben Rothwell In 32 Seconds At UFC Fight Night 197

Marcos Rogerio de Lima ran through Ben Rothwell tonight at UFC Fight Night 197, hurting him with a big right hand early and then swarming him with huge hooks for a 32 second TKO stoppage.

Round One:

Jab for Rothwell as de Lima looks for a leg kick. Now de Lima lands a more powerful leg kick. Big right hands lands flush for de Lima and puts Rothwell back on his heels.

De Lima wades in throwing huge hooks. Rothwell staggers along the cage from the force of the blows but somehow stays upright and tries to fire back. De Lima is firing on all cylinders though with more bombing hooks that again buckle Rothwell’s legs.

Rothwell tries to reach in for a takedown and falls to the mat clinging on for dear life to his opponent, but the ref Herb Dean had already stepped in to the end the action, handing de Lima a TKO stoppage only 32 seconds into the fight.

Rothwell’s unhappy with the stoppage and Herb Dean did seem caught in two minds after initially moving in to end it, but there’s no doubt that ‘Big Ben’ ate some massive punches there and was rocked more than once in quick succession, so at least he was spared taking any further damage.
