Marlon Moraes Defeats Raphael Assuncao By Submission In First Round At UFC On ESPN+ 2

Marlon Moraes avenged a previous loss to Raphael Assuncao tonight at UFC On ESPN+ 2 by way of a first round submission finish in the main event of the evening.

Round One:

Moraes lands a leg kick to start. Leg kick for Moraes. Now a spinning kick to the body for Assuncao. Leg kick for Moraes knocks his opponent off-balance for a moment.

Left hand lands for Moraes, then a leg kick. Left hook for Assuncao. However, then Moraes returns fire with an overhand right that rocks his opponent and then another that puts Assuncao down!

Moraes follows him down and immediately drops a series of bombs, but Assuncao’s head is clear enough to defend.

Moraes slows the tempo just a little and then lands another salvo. Now Moraes goes for a guillotine choke and rolls on top with it. In full mount he squeezes hard on that attempt and that’s it, Assuncao has tapped out and Moraes gets his revenge with a submission victory at 3.17mins of Rd1.
