Former bantamweight title contender Marlon Moraes’ next fight will reportedly be against Cory Sandhagen at a UFC event on October 10th at a location still to be confirmed.
Moraes’ last Octagon outing back in December saw him secure what would prove to be a somewhat controversial split decision victory over Jose Aldo, which some observers believed was the right call, while a few others, such as Dana White, thought Aldo deserved to win.
Prior to that Moraes had been TKO’d in the third round by Henry Cejudo in a battle for the vacant bantamweight title, which ended a four-fight winning streak that had seen the former WSOF champ defeat other major players in the weight class like John Dodson, Aljamain Sterling, Jimmy Rivera and Raphael Assuncao.
Now he goes up against Sandhagen, who started off his UFC career in impressive fashion with five victories in a row, including victories over the likes of Raphael Assuncao, John Lineker and Iuri Alcantara, before succumbing to a first round submission defeat to Aljamain Sterling back in June.
Moraes vs. Sandhagen will join an October 10th show that will also feature heavyweight action between Ben Rothwell and Marcin Tybura and is most likely to take place at either the APEX facility in Las Vegas or Fight Island, Abu Dhabi.
