Marvin Vettori Taps Out Karl Roberson With First Round RNC At UFC On ESPN 10

Marvin Vettori settled his beef with Karl Roberson tonight at UFC On ESPN 10 with a first round rear-naked choke submission victory.

Round One:

Jab from Vettori. Left hand from Vettori comes off the guard of Roberson. Jab lands for Vettori. Now a left hand gets through. Roberson feeling out with the jab.

Head kick attempt from Roberson. Jab for him. Now an axe kick attempt that misses. Clinch attempt and Vettori is trying for a takedown. However there’s a scramble and Roberson pulls Vettori down looking for a submission.

Vettori scrambles out and ends up on top. He’s in half-guard and lands a few short punches. Roberson thinking about standing and Vettori is threatening with a guillotine choke attempt.

Roberson scrambles to his knees and then stands, but Vettori gets the guillotine choke in again as they do so. Roberson trying to escape and uses the cage to push off with his feet. They go to the mat, scrambles some more and though Roberson gets out of the submission it’s Vettori who is still on top close to the cage.

Vettori landing big ground and pound and Roberson seems to be wilting. Vettori resets, lands a few more punches. Roberson gives up his back and then Vettori soon finds an opportunity to sink in a rear-naked choke and forces his opponent to tap out at 4.17mins of the first round!
