Matt Brown will be back in action against Jake Ellenberger at UFC 201 on July 30th in Atlanta, Georgia.
Brown last fought at UFC 198 in Brazil just a few weeks ago in what proved to be a rather eventful weekend in which he was hit in the head three times by fans during his walk-in, then lost by submission to Demian Maia, and was then sucker-punched by an old coach who had a grudge against him the following day.
No doubt the 35 year-old will be keen to put that experience behind him, and with just one win in his last four fights, it will be important to register a victory this time out.
That will be an even more pressing concern for his opponent however, with Ellenberger having lost five of his last six fights in the past three years.
That’s a very troubling turnaround for the 31 year-old who produced an 8-2 run in the early years of his UFC career, and adding another loss to his record would surely signal an end to his time in the Octagon.
Brown Vs Ellenberger joins a UFC 201 fight card that’s set to be headlined by a welterweight title fight between Robbie Lawler and Tyron Woodley, with flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson defending his belt against Wilson Reis in the co-main event.
