Matt Mitrione KO’s Fedor Emelianenko After Crazy Double Knockdown

Matt Mitrione emerged with a swift first round knockout victory over Fedor Emelianenko tonight at Bellator NYC, but not before both men dropped each other at the same time!

Round One:

Fedor takes the center of the Octagon as Mitrione bounces around light on his feet just out of range.

Left hand for Mitrione doesn’t connect. Leg kick for Fedor. Mitrione’s hands are low here, but so are Fedor’s.

Wow – they both land right hands at the same time and knock each other to the mat!!

Mitrione is quicker to regain his senses and he pounces on Fedor, landing vicious right hands and he’s knocked ‘The Last Emperor’ out cold! Crazy stuff, and fitting for a PPV card full of unexpected twists up to this point!

Big win for Mitrione then, but for Fedor this surely must signal the end of what’s proven to be an ill-advised late-career comeback that’s only served to prove that his chin has now sadly deserted him.
