Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua Vs Thiago Silva In The Works Says Dana White

Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua will take on fellow Brazilian Thiago Silva in his next visit to the Octagon.

That’s the plan according to UFC president Dana White who confirmed the fight to fans on Twitter earlier today.

‘Shogun’ is currently looking to bounce back after losing out to Dan Henderson in an exceptionally hard fought bout that rightly claimed the honor of ‘Fight Of The Year’ for 2011.

Silva is also in search of a win after losing out to Sweden’s Alexander Gustafsson at ‘UFC On Fuel TV 2’ earlier this month.

Our initial hunch was that Shogun Vs Silva may take place at UFC 147 in Brazil, but reports since suggest that it will in fact form part of the UFC 149 fight card in Calgary, Canada in July.
