UFC On FOX 8 takes place on July 27th in Seattle and the first bout announced for the show is a lightweight encounter between Melvin Guillard and Mac Danzig.
Not so long ago Guillard was one of the division’s top contenders, but he’s fallen on tougher times of late with just one win in his last five fights.
To add to his woes he’s facing a pending assault charge in New Mexico and after recently leaving the Blackzillians fight team he found that he’s no longer welcome at his old gym, Jackson’s MMA.
He has however now hooked up with the respected ‘Grudge Training Center’ in Colorado where he’ll prepare for this fight.
As for Danzig, the former TUF champion hasn’t been in sparkling form either with a recent 2-3 record and is coming off a loss to Takanori Gomi back in November.
No other fights have been announced for the next show so far, and at this stage it’s not clear whether Guillard Vs Danzig will be on the main card or not.
