A lightweight fight between Michael Chiesa and Kevin Lee has been announced as the main event for UFC Fight Night 112 in Oklahoma on June 25th.
Former TUF winner Chiesa has been out for the past year due to injuries, but nevertheless is riding a three-fight winning streak that’s included notable victories over Jim Miller and Beneil Dariush.
That left the 29-year-old ranked No.7 in the division and extended his overall UFC record to 7-2.
Meanwhile, the 24-year-old Lee appears to be a fighter with a bright future in the sport based on what he’s produced in the Octagon so far, with his current four-fight unbeaten stretch seeing him defeat the likes of Efrain Escudero, Jake Matthews and Francisco Trinaldo.
In total Lee is 8-1 in the UFC and being ranked No.11 in the division he’ll see a win over Chiesa as his route to finally breaking into the top 10.
Lee’s performances in the Octagon so far and outspoken personality have caught people’s attention, and has even led to him being targeted by Floyd Mayweather Jr as a sparring partner to help him train for his rumored boxing match with Conor McGregor.
Chiesa Vs Lee tops a UFC Fight Night 112 card that already has several significant fights on-board, including BJ Penn Vs Dennis Siver, Johny Hendricks Vs Tim Boetsch and Carla Esparza Vs Maryna Moroz.
