The blockbuster UFC 194 event in Las Vegas on December 12th just secured a meaningful woman’s strawweight fight between Michelle Waterson and Tecia Torres.
A former Atomweight champion in the Invicta FC organization, fan favorite Waterson has a 13-4 career record and looked the part in her UFC debut in July, dismantling Angela Megana with ease before submitting her in the third round.
Now the 29 year-old, who’s known as ‘The Karatie Hottie’ and currently ranked No.11 in the division takes a significant step up in competition as she faces the No.5 placed Torres who holds a perfect 6-0 MMA record to date including two victories inside the Octagon.
Despite eight years of experience in the cage this will be one of Waterson’s toughest tests to date, though she does already hold a win over recent UFC strawweight title challenger Jessica Penne who she defeated to become an Invicta champion two years ago.
Waterson Vs Torres lands on an already stacked end-of-year UFC 194 pay-per-view event that will be headlined by a featherweight title fight between Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor backed up by middleweight title action as Chris Weidman faces Luke Rockhold, not to mention a potential No.1 contender bout in the same division as Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza squares off against Yoel Romero.
