Strikeforce’s August event has just added another major female fight with former 135lb champion Miesha Tate set to return against Julie Kedzie.
Tate is looking to rebound from a loss to Ronda Rousey who’ll headline the show against another former holder of the belt, Sarah Kaufman.
Tate badly injured her arm during that fight as the result of the brutal fight-ending armbar from Rousey so the fact that she’s able to return just five months later means that her recovery has gone about as well as she could have hoped.
Prior to that Tate was on a six-fight winning streak and in the best form of her career so she’ll want to start rebuilding that momentum against Kedzie who had herself pieced together a four-fight unbeaten run before being defeated by Alexis Davis in the Strikeforce cage last year.
