Both Miesha Tate and Liz Carmouche will be looking to take their first step back towards the title when they clash at ‘UFC On FOX 8’ on July 27th.
Tate suffered a double disappointment recently when she missed out on both a title shot against Ronda Rousey and a chance to coach on TUF 18 when she lost to Cat Zingano at the TUF 17 Finale.
She remains one of the sport’s leading female fighters though with a 13-4 career record and could quickly find herself back in the title mix with a win here.
As for Carmouche, a gutsy display against Rousey earlier this year in the Octagon earned her plenty of respect from fight fans and a win over Tate would prove she’s going to continue to be a force to be reckoned with at 135lbs.
While it’s not official yet, it’s believed that Tate Vs Carmouche may well secure a main card spot on the FOX card, and that’s probably well earned given the exciting nature of both of these fighters UFC debuts.
There they will be joined by a flyweight title fight between Demetrious Johnson and John Moraga, a welterweight clash featuring Rory MacDonald Vs Jake Ellenberger and a duel of former Strikeforce fighters Robbie Lawler and Tarec Saffiediene.
