When news emerged recently that former WEC bantamweight champion Miguel Torres had been released from the UFC it was assumed that it was down to his recent slump in form inside the Octagon, but apparently that’s not the case.
According to The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer, Torres was in fact cut from the promotion due to a disciplinary matter.
If so it’s not the first time he’s experienced that fate as just last year he was removed from the roster after making an inappropriate joke about rape on his Twitter account, though he was reinstated just a couple of months later.
According to Meltzer it was “some sort of a similar mistake” which cost him his place in the UFC for a second time.
Torres has since signed for Titan Fighting Championship and is expected to compete on November 2nd.
