Molly McCann To Fight Erin Blanchfield At UFC 281

After some big wins in her native England this year, Molly McCann will now head to Madison Square Garden in New York City for her next fight against Erin Blanchfield at UFC 281 on November 12th.

McCann had already been coming off a win over Ji Yeon Kim last year when she began 2022 with a fight against Luana Carolina at the 02 Arena in London that would see her deliver a stunning third-round knockout courtesy of a spinning back elbow.

McCann then proved that lightning can strike twice when she returned to the same arena just a few months later to fight Hannah Goldy, and managed to land another spinning back elbow during a fight-ending sequence that would claim her not only a first round TKO finish, but also her second ‘Performance Of The Night’ bonus in a row.

Now McCann will look to prove she can continue her current run of form without the roar of the home crowd behind her as she takes on Blanchfield, who has so far racked up three wins in a row since joining the UFC last year.

That included decision wins over Sarah Alpar and Miranda Maverick, before securing a submission finish against JJ Aldrich last time out to take the former Invicta FC fighter’s overall career record to 9-1.

McCann vs. Blanchfield joins a UFC 281 card that will be headlined by a middleweight title showdown between Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira, the only other fight currently confirmed for the event at this stage.
