Multiple Fights Announced For UFC Fight Night 96 In Portland

UFC Fight Night 96 takes place in Portland, Oregon on October 1st, and multiple fights have now been announced for the event.

That includes Sergio Pettis’ next fight, as he looks to build on back-to-back victories at flyweight against Louis Smolka, who’s very much in-form with four wins in a row heading into this one.

Also on-board will be former Bellator lightweight champion Will Brooks who, after a successful debut against Ross Pearson, now takes on Alex ‘Cowboy’ Oliveira who’s dropping back down to the division after a stint at 170lbs.

There’s also a clash of lightweight veterans that pits Josh Burkman against Bobby Green, with both men in search of a victory to get them back on track, while at middleweight Nate Marquardt will hope to rediscover his form against Tamdam McRory.

Rounding off a busy day of fight announcements for the card, Walt Harris is set to fight Shamil Abdurakhimov. while Luis Henrique da Silva goes up against Joachim Christensen.

At this stage it’s not clear if one of the aforementioned bouts will serve as the evening’s main or co-main event of the evening.

The show will be the first to take place in Portland for six years and will air on FOX Sports 1.
