After their two-fight series earlier this year, Conor McGregor has moved on from Nate Diaz for the time being as he looks to fight Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight title at UFC 205 in November, but the Stockton native still has some choice words for both the Irishman and his opponent.
“F*uck them both,” Diaz said in typically blunt fashion when mmafighting.com asked what he though of the McGregor Vs Alvarez fight. “You know both those little bitches are afraid to fight me. That’s why they are fighting each other.
“And tell Dana I said get off Conor’s nuts. I left my room to that fight at 176 (pounds), so when I fought I was probably 173. Quit telling people I was a monster to make him look good. I’ve been a lightweight my whole career.”
Diaz didn’t have anything good to see about the current lightweight champion either.
“Eddie said I was next after Gilbert, then I called him a bitch in the lobby and he turned the fight down repeatedly until I beat Conor,” Diaz said. “Then he called every day asking for the fight. Bitch. What kinda fighters are these guys?”
Diaz is currently enjoying the spoils of war, having reportedly made several million dollars for his back-to-back record breaking fights with McGregor at UFC 196 and UFC 200, so it’s unlikely he’ll be in a rush to return to the Octagon just yet – though if ‘The Notorious’ were to win the belt from Alvarez then a trilogy fight at 155lbs would surely tempt him to return in 2017.
