Nate Diaz Talking With UFC About August Return To The Octagon

UFC star Nate Diaz is reportedly in talks with the UFC about a possible return to the Octagon in August.

According to ESPN, the two parties spoke within the last week, with UFC 227 on August 4th having being ringmarked as a potential date for his return to action for the first time in two years.

Of course, Diaz’s last fight in the UFC was against Conor McGregor in a rematch after he shocked the superstar by tapping him out in the second round of a short-notice encounter a few months earlier.

Diaz would go on to lose the rematch by a majority decision verdict, but the event proved to be a massive money-spinner and broke the UFC’s pay-per-view record with 1.65 million buys, making the Stockton native millions of dollars in the process.

As such, the 33-year-old hasn’t exactly been in a hurry to return to the UFC since, but he had given indications earlier this year that he was preparing to fight again, initially stating that, “I’ll see you around May, June.”

It seems his plans have now been pushed back a few months, but he’s still on course to fight in 2018, though who his opponent would be remains a mystery at this stage.
