Nate Diaz Walks Out Of Presser And Blasts UFC After McGregor Vs Nurmagomedov Announcement

Nate Diaz and Dana White

Nate Diaz showed up late to last night’s UFC 25th Anniversary Press Conference for the official confirmation of his fight with Dustin Poirier at UFC 230 in New York City, but it wasn’t long before he was getting up and leaving again.

Diaz was present when Dana White announced that his rival Conor McGregor would be fighting lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 in Las Vegas and while a video piece was running on the bigscreen behind the stage for the blockbuster showdown, the Stockton native decided he’d had enough and walked off-stage.

“I’m not fighting on that show fuk the @ufc,” Diaz then wrote on Twitter.

Poirier then appeared to jokingly get in on the act by also posting a similar message.

“I ain’t fighting on that show either F the ufc,” Poirier stated.

Later in an interview with TMZ, Diaz stopped short of confirming that he was off the UFC 229 card, but he indicated that he wasn’t happy with the level of promotion that the company was giving him.

“They better start acting right and start over-promoting [me] instead of under promoting,” Diaz said, while also claiming that it was the UFC’s fault that he showed up to the presser late.
