New Renzo Gracie Interview: Confirms Mugging Incident Really Did Happen

Earlier today we posted the seemingly too-good-to-be-true story about Renzo Gracie beating up a couple of muggers in NYC last night while simultaneously tweeting about it at the same time, and now the legendary fighter and coach has confirmed that it really did go down just as he described.

Talking with MMAfighting’s Ariel Helwani, Gracie goes back over the whole incident in more detail, and says that he initially started posting on Twitter that he thought he was going to be mugged as a joke, but then it turned out the two men who were following him really were looking for trouble.

They initially asked him for a cigarette, but then tried to rifle through his pockets at which point Gracie took care of business, beating up one of the men before later managing to hunt the other down and put the hurt on him too.

Settle back and let Uncle Renzo tell you how it all went down below…
