UFC star Paige VanZant continues to kick ass on ‘Dancing With The Stars’ as she tied for first in the latest episode of the reality show.
There was a Disney theme this week, and so PVZ and her dance partner Mark Ballas chose to dance a quickstep to ‘You’ve Got A Friend In Me’ from ‘Toy Story.’ The song tied in with VanZant’s over-arcing storyline about having been bullied growing up.
The dance proved to be a hit with all four judges who each rated it a 9/10, giving her a total score of 36/40, tying for first place along with TV personality Ginger Zee who’d also scored strongly for her dance to ‘Bonjour’ from ‘Beauty And The Beast.’
At the other end of the scale, Donald Trump’s ex-wife Marla Maples was the latest celebrity to be voted off the show, joining Geraldo Rivera and Mischa Barton who were kicked off in previous weeks.
VanZant remains one of the favorites to win the 23rd season of DTWS, which is a great achievement given that she’s still just 21 years old and until appearing the show she wasn’t really known outside of the MMA space.
The only downside is that the longer she remains on the show, the longer it’s likely to be before we see her back in the Octagon, though there has been some suggestion that perhaps her new-found celebrity status could help her land a spot on the UFC 200 card in July.
