Paige VanZant Impresses DWTS Judges With Octagon Themed Routine

UFC strawweight star Paige VanZant continued to impress the judges on ‘Dancing With The Stars’ this week with a routine that was themed on her fighting career inside the Octagon.

This week the show was themed around the most memorable year in each contestant’s lives, and so VanZant chose 2014, the year she made her UFC debut.

PVZ’s paso doble routine took place in a mock-up of the UFC’s Octagon, and saw her performing some MMA related moves, including finishing off the performance with a fake superman punch that dropped her partner Mark Ballas who was returning after recovering from the back injury that kept him out of the show last week.

The judgees praised PVZ’s performance, with one judges claiming, “it was like watching Wonder Woman,” while another called it “badass.”

PVZ’s performance would go on to score an overall 23/30 from the judges which ensured she was again one of the top performers on the night, though former Boyz II Men singer Wayna Morris continuing to be one of her main rivals with a 24/30 and former ‘America’s Top Model’ winner Nyle DiMarco leading the night with 25/30.

The 21 year-old VanZant remains one of the favorites to win the show, while fellow contestant, Mischa Barton, was the second member of the cast to be voted off.
