Despite only being 22 years old, UFC strawweight fighter Paige VanZant has just landed a publishing deal that will see her release a book based on her life.
The book will be released by Hatchette, an established publisher who have also worked with the likes of J.K Rowling, Alex Patterson, David Baldacci and Stephanie Meyer.
“It’s a memoir,” PVZ told FOX Sports back in December, prior to landing a deal to release it. “Obviously, people learned a little bit about my past and my story and I really haven’t told it all and it’s something I feel like I wouldn’t be able to say out loud so a book is the perfect way.”
VanZant has led an eventful life, from working as a model in her youth to fighting in the UFC and also reaching second place on ‘Dancing With The Stars’ reality show.
So far, VanZant has compiled a 7-3 record in Mixed Martial Arts and is still considered to be something of a work in progress, as evidenced by the fact that she’s lost two of her last three fights in the UFC against Rose Namajunas and Michelle Waterson, though sandwiched in-between that she earned a ‘Knockout Of The Year’ nomination for her jumping switch kick finish against Bec Rawlings.
Given that there appear to be other opportunities for VanZant outside of fighting, some questioned whether she would continue to compete, but judging by a Twitter post yesterday it seems that she’s eagerly awaiting her chance to get back to winning ways in the Octagon.
“I can’t wait to fight again!!!!!!! Get me back in there! 👊🏼⭐️ who should I fight next???” Van Zant asked her fans.
