A women’s flyweight fight between Paige VanZant and Jessy Rose-Clark is reportedly in the works for UFC Fight Night 124 in St. Louis on January 14th.
The 23-year-old PVZ has gone the entirety of 2017 without competing in the Octagon after losing to Michelle Waterson by a first round rear-naked choke in December of last year.
That took her UFC record to 4-2, but with a 1-2 run in her last three fights she decided to take the opportunity to switch to the newly formed 125lb division for her next bout.
VanZant was originally supposed to make her divisional debut against Jessica Eye back in July, but a series of injuries and ailments, including a herniated disc, meant that she had to take time out to recouperate instead.
Meanwhile, the 29-year-old Rose-Clark only just made her UFC debut this past weekend on short notice against Bec Rawlings and emerged with a split decision victory.
In total Rose-Clark’s MMA record stands at 8-4 (+1nc), including brief stints in both the Invicta FC and Titan FC promotions.
PVZ Vs Rose-Clark joins a UFC Fight Night 124 card that is still in it’s formative stages, but also includes a middleweight encounter between Vitor Belfort and Uriah Hall, plus Jessica Eye’s return against Kalindra Faria.
