A light-heavyweight fight between Paul Craig and Alonso Menifield has been added to the UFC On ESPN 3 card in Mineapolis on June 29th.
Hailing from Scotland, the 31-year-old Craig has had somewhat of a patchy record in the UFC to date, going 3-3 so far, but he’s also built a reputation for stunning last-gasp submission victories.
Such was the case last year when, after coming off second best for almost the entirety of the fight, Craig managed to tap out Magomed Ankalaev with a triangle choke with just a single second of the fight remaining.
Craig has since gone on to prove that was no fluke by finishing Kennedy Nzechukwu with a triangle choke with only 40 seconds to go back in March of this year.
Now Craig goes up against Menifield, a product of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series, who improved his MMA record to 8-0 when he racked up a TKO victory against Vinicius Moreira in his UFC debut back in January.
Craig Vs Menifield joins a UFC On ESPN 3 card that’s set to be headlined by a rematched of former welterweight champions Tyron Woodley and Robbie Lawler, while Joseph Benavidez goes up against Jussier Formiga in the flyweight co-main event.
