Rising bantamweight prospect Payton Talbott’s next fight is expected to be against Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 332 in Salt Lake City on October 3rd after a verbal agreement was reached between the two stars.

The 27-year-old has so far gone 5-1 in the UFC since joining from the Contender Series back in 2023.

After getting off to a strong start in the Octagon with three stoppage victories, Talbott hit a bump in the road at the start of last year when he suffered a unanimous decision loss to Raoni Barcelos.

However, Talbott rebounded well by earning back-to-back decision wins later in the year over Felipe Lima and former two-division champion Henry Cejudo.

Still currently unranked in the division, Talbott now goes up against another former champ in ex-flyweight titleholder Deiveson Figueiredo.

The 38-year-old Figueiredo moved up to the 135lb division back in 2023 and made an immediate impact with a trio of wins over the likes of Rob Font, Cody Garbrandt and Marlon Vera.

Since then Figueiredo has had a slump in form though, losing four of his last five fights against a tough slate of leading bantamweight contenders, leaving him ranked No.11.

Talbott vs. Figueiredo is expected to join a UFC 332 card that is still in the early stages of development and so doesn’t yet have a headlining fight, but will also include Johnny Walker vs. Mick Parkin and Roman Kopylov vs. Ateba Gautier.
