Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson Vs Glover Teixeira is finally going to happen, and it’ll take place at ‘UFC On FOX 6’ on January 26th in Chicago.
This bout was originally scheduled to take place at UFC 153 last month, but ‘Rampage’ pulled out three weeks before the fight with an elbow injury.
Teixeira would then go on to face late-replacement Fabio Maldonado at the show in Brazil and after impressively dismantling him over 10 minutes of action both he and ‘Rampage’ indicated that they were still eager to fight each other.
This is expected to serve as the former light-heavyweight champion’s last fight for the UFC before he moves on to pastures new, having apparently become disillusioned with life in the sport’s biggest promotion.
Despite having experienced a slump in form that’s seen him lose his last two fights and even in victory appearing to have lost the intensity he showed earlier in his career, ‘Ramage’ is still a big name fighter in the UFC and so he makes a good addition to the ‘UFC On FOX 6’ line-up which is headlined by a flyweight title fight between Demetrious Johnson and John Dodson.
On paper ‘Rampage’ Vs Teixeira also looks like it could be an exciting stand-up war, and if that proves to be the case that would be a very good thing indeed for a high profile television spot on FOX.
