Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson will fight Glover Teixeira at UFC 153 in Brazil on October 13th.
The bout will be ‘Rampage’s’ last fight before he leaves the UFC after becoming disillusioned by the way he’s been treated by the promotion.
‘Rampage’ had said in the past that he wanted to avenge his old losses to the likes of ‘Shogun’ and Forrest Griffin, but with his rocky relationship with the UFC now on the verge of ending they’ve not opted to grant his wish.
The former light-heavyweight champion is coming off losses to Jon Jones and Ryan Bader, and while Teixeira isn’t as well known as either of them, he is a highly respected fighter with an 18-2 record and he easily won in his UFC debut against Kyle Kingsbury before making headlines when Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua refused to fight him.
‘Rampage’ has agreed to fight him though, and will now have to be very well prepared and focused if he doesn’t want to become a stepping stone for the Brazilian fighter.
