Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson and Chael Sonnen are two of the UFC’s most outspoken fighter’s and so perhaps not overly surprising that they have finally got around to targeting their trash-talking sights on each other.
Striking the first blow was ‘Rampage’ during a recent interview in which he said of the former middleweight No.1 contender, “I think Chael should keep his word and leave the UFC because that’s what he said he was gonna do if he lost. And he lost horribly! Bad! Chael sucks. He should go somewhere where people like his interviews, the way he talks sh*t on everybody. I can’t stand that boy. F*ck Chael.”
While the former light-heavyweight champion threw the first punch, Sonnen appeared on yesterday’s ‘UFC Tonight’ ready to fire both barrels back at him.
“To keep it professional my answer would be simply listen Rampage has one fight left and it’s not against me.
“Now if you asked me in the streets, in my kingdom amongst my people while I’m not wearing the suit and I don’t have the earpiece my answer might of been different. I probably would of said Rampage, why don’t you stick to violating female reporters, making box office disasters, and driving the wrong way down the freeway while you’re jacked up on Mountain Dew, ’cause you are not on my level.”
1-0 Chael Sonnen.
Unfortunately despite the fact Sonnen has entertained the possibility of moving up to light-heavyweight soon, the reality is that with ‘Rampage’ having already made it clear he’s leaving the UFC after his final fight with Glover Teixeira in October, a bout between them isn’t going to happen.
