A fight between welterweight contenders Rafael dos Anjos and Kamaru Usman has been announced as the main event of The Ultimate Fighter 28 in Las Vegas on November 30th.
Former lightweight champion Dos Anjos is coming off his first loss since moving up to 170lbs last year, suffering a unanimous decision loss against Colby Covington in an interim title fight at UFC 225 back in June.
Prior to that Dos Anjos had taken the division by storm, winning three fights in a row against Tarec Saffiedine, Neil Magny and Robbie Lawler, and even now he still remains the No.3 ranked contender at 170lbs.
Former TUF 21 winner Usman has also become a major player in the welterweight ranks over the last three years, during which he’s racked up no less than eight wins in a row inside the Octagon.
Along the way he’s defeated the likes of Sergio Moraes, Warlley Alves, Sean Strickland, and Emil Week, but his highest profile win so far was last time out when he defeated former title contender Demian Maia by decision.
Dos Anjos and Usman joins a TUF 28 Finale card that will also feature the likes of Gilbert Melendez Vs Arnold Allen and Bryan Caraway Vs Pedro Munhoz.
