Rampage Jackson Vs King Mo II Announced For Bellator 175

Following Bellator 170 last night, the promotion held a press conference for a newly unveiled rematch between Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson and Muhammed ‘King Mo’ Lawal, which will take place at Bellator 175 on March 31st.

Jackson and ‘King Mo’ have fought once before in the Bellator cage back in May of 2014 in the final of the season 10 light-heavyweight tournament, with ‘Rampage’ emerging with a controversial unanimous decision on that occasion, much to the annoyance of his opponent.

Since then ‘Rampage’ has only fought twice, mainly due to a contract dispute with Bellator that led to him briefly returning to the UFC for a fight with Fabio Maldonado in 2015, which he won by unanimous decision.

A lengthy legal battle with Bellator then resulted in the 38 year-old returning to the promotion in early 2016, and he’d go on to defeat Satoshi Ishii by split decision a few months later.

By contrast ‘King Mo’, has kept much busier over the same period, going 8-2 as he continued to fight for Bellator, while also competing in two tournaments for Japanese promotion Rizin.

Along the way, ‘King Mo’ has defeated the likes of Cheick Kongo, Linton Vassell and Satoshi Ishii, while also winning Rizin’s openweight grand-prix in 2015.

That being said, the 36-year old’s two losses came against in two highest-profile fights against Phil Davis and Mirko ‘Cro Cop’ Filipovic.
