Retired UFC Fighter Chris Leben Sentenced To 120 Days In Jail After Attempted Break-In

Retired UFC fighter Chris Leben has been setenced to 120 days behind bars after he plead guilty of attempting to break-in to the apartment of his ex-wife Kaleena Leben back in June.

Leben, who hung up his gloves in 2013 after a four fight losing streak in the Octagon, attempted to break into her apartment building in San Diego while in possession of a loaded .45 caliber handgun and an illegal AR-15 assault rifle.

Along with his jail sentence which begins on September 21st, Leben will also undergo three years of probation, enroll in a 52 week domestic violence class and has to avoid any contact with his ex-wife for the next 10 years.

“I just remembered a joke my mom told me once what kind of bird doesn’t fly answer a jailbird LOL everything happens for reason right,” Leben wrote on Twitter after hearing the court’s verdict.

Leben was marked out as a troubled character from his earliest days in the UFC as a competitor on the first season of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ reality show where he infamously went on a drunken rampage after being tormented by fellow housemates Josh Koscheck and Bobby Southworth.

Drug and alcohol abuse has been a recurring problem for ‘The Crippler’ over the years and he’s no stranger to being on the wrong side of the law, having been arrested several times and previously served time for a DUI charge.
