Roger Gracie To Fight Tim Kennedy At UFC 162

Two former Strikeforce veterans Roger Gracie and Tim Kennedy will now meet each other in the Octagon at UFC 162 on July 6th.

Originally starting of his Strikeforce run at light-heavyweight, highly decorated BJJ ace Gracie moved down to middleweight last year and has so far racked up two wins, going 6-1 for his MMA career overall.

During his Strikeforce career Kennedy was consistently in the title mix but came up short in two attempts at the middleweight belt during a 4-2 run that leaves him at 15-4 for his career overall as he looks to mount a fresh assault on the UFC’s 185lb division.

Other former Strikeforce middleweight stars like Robbie Lawler and Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza have already made an immediate impact in the UFC and both Gracie and Kennedy have the ability to make a good impression in the Octagon too.

So far no fights have been officially announced for UFC 162 but there is a rumor circulating that a 185lb title fight between Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman could potentially serve as the main event.
