Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza Vs Tim Boetsch Set For UFC 208

Ronaldo Jacare Souza

One of the middleweight division’s top contenders Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza is set to fight Tim Boetsch at UFC 208 in Brooklyn on February 11th.

‘Jacare’ is coming off a first round TKO victory against Vitor Belfort back in May of last year, putting the Brazilian back on track after a split decision loss to Yoel Romero snapped a five fight unbeaten stretch since joining the UFC in 2013.

Souza had then been lined up to fight former champion Luke Rockhold in a potential No.1 contender bout at UFC Fight Night 101 in November until his opponent pulled out injured due to an ACL injury.

Now the No.3 contender will have to make do with a less high-profile match-up against Boetsch, who is currently ranked at No.14 after back-to-back wins over Josh Samman and Rafael Natal in 2016.

It’s not clear yet exactly where ‘Jacare’ Vs Boetsch will feature on the UFC 208 line-up, though a main card spot looks likely to complement a headliner that sees Holly Holm and Germaine De Randamie battle to become the first ever woman’s featherweight champion in the UFC.

Other bouts on tap for the New York show include Glover Teixeira Vs Jared Cannonier and Travis Browne Vs Derrick Lewis.
