Two of Ronda Rousey’s fiercest rivals, Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino and Floyd Mayweather Jr are either opting to take the high road after he devastating loss to Amanda Nunes at UFC 207, or are simply opting to kill her with kindness as they both send her public messages of support.
There’s nobody that Rousey has had a bigger war of words with over the years than ‘Cyborg’ and with an often discussed superfight between the two now all but dead in the water, the Brazilian opted to pick her up rather than put her down with a message posted on the star’s Instagram page.
“I was sad to see the loss of the sports star,” Cyborg wrote. “But you have so much ahead of you and [are] blessed with the financial security to pursue all your passions. You opened the door for more promotion and grew into a sport icon. [Enjoy] the next chapter of life and know you’ve got amazing opportunities to continue changing the world.”
Meanwhile, boxing legend Mayweather rose above the bad blood between himself and the UFC star with his own reaction her loss during an interview for fighthype.com.
“Ronda Rousey, hold your head up, stay focused, keep believing … a true champion can bounce back,” Mayweather said. “You’ll be OK, everything will be OK.
“Ronda Rousey has a lot left,” he continued. “I don’t want her to think this is the end of the world.
“Now it’s 2017, so you’re undefeated this year. Come back, champ.”
