In his latest act of stupidity Steven Seagal has said he’d be willing to fight Randy Couture behind-closed-doors, but luckily for him and sadly for the rest of us, it appears ‘The Natural’ is going to let him off the hook.

How did this all come about?  You may remember that a while ago UFC Hall-Of-Famer Couture jokingly stated that he would only come out of retirement to fight Seagal.

Well, it turns out Seagal’s head is wedged too far up his own ass to realize that this was said in jest.

“I really have to kind of wonder what his intentions and motivations may have been in saying that,” The Bloated One blustered in an interview with Ariel Helwani recently. “I always thought that Randy was my friend and a gentleman. I’m kind of confused as to why he would say that. All I can say is, I’m here. Anybody can find me anytime and anyplace. If Randy really wants to fight me, he can fight me anytime he wants. It’ll be for free, and it’ll be some place where there are no witnesses.”

…Really? Really?

“I don’t play by rules. That’s not how I fight,” he also stated when asked if this behind-the-scenes encounter would take place under MMA rules if it ever went down.

…C’mon son.

Being the gentleman that he is, Couture has now responded to assure the hard-of-thinking has-been that he wasn’t being serious.

“I’m the one that started the joke as an off-handed comment I made to Jay Glazer – that I’d only come out of retirement if it were to fight Seagal. Obviously now somebody has talked to him about it and it has gotten some legs,” Couture tells CagePotato. “I’m not surprised that he wants to do it in private, remote location where nobody could see it happen. Obviously I intended it as a joke. I don’t think it would really happen.”
