Sara McMann Submits Alexis Davis With Arm Triangle Choke At TUF 24 Finale

Sara McMann had to fend off submission attempts from Alexis Davis in the early grappling exchanges in their fight at the TUF 24 Finale tonight, but in the end it would be McMann who would produce a tapout from her opponent after cinching up an arm triangle choke in the second round.

Round One:

McMann with a big right hand to start the fight. Soon after Davis fires back with a flurry of punches. Body punch for McMann.

Exchange in close with both women landing. Series of punches down the pipe for McMann that all land nicely.

McMann looks to exchange again, but then switches to a takedown attempt and lands it. Davis is crafty from her back though and she works her legs up looking for submission opportunities and lands some hard elbows to McMann’s head into the bargain.

Half way through the round as McMann settles more securely into her opponent’s guard. The threat of submissions is making her cautious to land ground and pound though.

Suddenly McCmann does explode with a series of heavy punches, then is back to staying in tight on top of Davis. She picks her moment to move into half guard, but Davis tries for a triangle choke while landing hard elbows to finish the round.

Round Two:

Inbetween rounds McMann claims she couldn’t feel half her face, so she was adamant that her strategy would be to take Davis down, so let’s see if she can do it.

Nice leg kick for McMann. Davis looks to exchange, but McMann does successfully accomplish her goal to get her opponent to the mat with a slick hip toss.

McMann in half guard and showing good control as Davis continues to try to work her submission game.

However, it’s McMann who’s now starting to work for an arm triangle choke, but she needs to get her legs free to complete the move. She’s able to do just that and shifts to the side to lock up the choke tight and leave Davis with no option but to tap out.

Big win for McMann then and especially sweet for her given that she tapped out a BJJ black belt.
