Sara McMann will return to action against Lina Lansberg at UFC Fight Night 166 in Raleigh, North Carolina on January 25th.
A former Olympic silver medalist, McMann is coming off back-to-back submission losses in her last two UFC outings.
Ketlen Vieira was the first to tap her out with an arm triangle back in 2017 and then last year Marion Reneau caught her in a triangle choke.
McMann then went on maternity leave, so by the time this newly scheduled fight occurs it will have been a little under two years since she last set foot in the Octagon.
As for Lansberg, she’s currently riding a two-fight winning streak in 2019, having earned a unanimous decision victory over Tonya Evinger and followed it up with another win on the scorecards against Macy Chiasson.
Heading into this fight McMann is ranked No.9 in the bantamweight division, while Lansberg is just a couple of spots behind at No.11.
McMann vs. Lansberg joins a UFC Fight Night 166 card that is set to be headlined by a heavyweight fight between Junior dos Santos and Curtis Blaydes, while Frankie ‘The Answer’ Edgar’s bantamweight debut against Cory Sandhagen is expected to take the co-main event spot on the line-up.
